Chris Trombley has been the bass section leader and soloist at First Presbyterian since 2008. He has also served as transitional music director on two separate occasions. After receiving his training at Ithaca College, Chris moved to Albany, where he has been singing professionally for the past 25 years. Chris has been a featured soloist with numerous choral ensembles, including the Burnt Hills Oratorio Society, Saratoga Chamber Singers, Capitol Hill Choral Society, Champlain Valley Chorale, and the Albany Gay Men’s Chorus. He is known for his versatility and experience with a wide range of musical styles and historical periods—from the sacred music of Palestrina to that of Benjamin Britten, and from Baroque opera to Broadway.
Chris has music-directed and acted in nearly all of the theatrical venues in our area, including productions of Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Bent. He is especially proud of his work as a chorister with Berkshire Opera Co., and playing the Counsel for the Defense opposite David Hyde Pierce’s Judge in a production of Gilbert & Sullivan’s Trial by Jury.
