Carrying the Light Forward – Do you care about the long-term vitality of First Presbyterian Church? Do you want to learn how to help carry the light of FPC forward so that we can continue to teach our young people, reach into our communities with caring support, and preach the gospel of Christ for years to come? If so, please join us for a fun (really–promise!) “Lunch and Learn” immediately following worship on Sunday, September 25th presented by the Legacy Giving Subcommittee. We’ll enjoy some great piano music by our own Michael Lister, delicious light luncheon fare (with really good brownies for dessert), and a door prize raffle with some great prizes.

For the “learn” part of the event, we will hear from the Rev. Rose Niles of the Presbyterian Foundation and a couple congregation members who have chosen to leave a legacy gift to FPC. This is a short presentation meant as an introduction to legacy giving and how it works. It is NOT a high-pressure event, and we expect that it will last about 1 hour and 15 minutes.

And, if you need more tempting, here are the door prizes for the raffle:

  • Two (2) tickets to the Chris Botti concert at The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall,
  • A beautiful photographic print created by our own Ray Henrikson,
  • A two-pound chocolate basket from Krause’s, and
  • A $200 gift certificate to Josie’s Table in Stuyvesant Plaza!

Although no RSVP is required, the committee would appreciate it if you could sign up with Jamie in the church office. That helps us know how many brownies to make!
