First Friday at First Presbyterian is a monthly arts night that showcases the Capital Region’s abundant variety of talented musicians and visual artists.  It’s also a great opportunity for members of First Pres, Albany residents and the wider Capital Region community to share fellowship and build connections through art and music.  Each event features a concert in the sanctuary (starting at 6:00 pm) and a pop up art exhibition in the adjoining Assembly Hall. During intermission and before/after the concert, the audience can mix and mingle with the artists/musicians and enjoy an array of refreshments provided by the choir and members of First Pres.

Recent musical performers have included:  Karlinda Caldicott, Elizabeth Shoup, Will Hayes, Saint Rose Madrigal Ensemble, Albany Gay Men’s Chorus, Carla Fisk, James Haertl, Andre O’Neil, Capital Pride Singers, David Bebe, Zephyr Winds and Cobblestone.  Recent visual artists have included:  Kevin Kuhne, Tom McGill, Sarah Pezdek, Brian Cirmo, Kevin Bruce, T. Klacsmann, David Carter, Tina Lincer, Elden Rowland, Hans Dogan, Gail Hinchen and Juan Gabriel Ocampo Valle.

Mark your calendars and consider joining us from 5:30 – 8:00 pm on the first Friday of each month (from October through June).  First Presbyterian Church is located at 362 State Street (one block from Lark Street, corner of State and Willett on Washington Park).  If you’d like share your talents or make suggestions for an upcoming event, please contact the art gallery director, David Hinchen or music director, Michael Lister.
