First Pres, through the Social Justice and Peacemaking Committee, has been working with the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival. Here is information from the PPC about an upcoming action.

Will you join us at 12pm ET on Moral Monday, 3/15 in Albany at the State Capitol Building’s Washington Ave entrance, as we deliver our 2021 Poor People’s Campaign Demands to our New York State legislative leadership and to Governor Cuomo?

RSVP HERE!

We will stand united with folks across the country as they too deliver the Poor People’s Campaign’s Policy Priorities to legislative leaders and governors at their state capitals. Together, we are bringing attention to the impact of policies which promote systemic racism, poverty and inequality, the war economy and militarism, environmental devastation, and a corrupt moral narrative.

If you can’t join us in person, visit our Facebook page at 12pm ET to watch the livestream, and sign on to our NYS demands as we come together to support a policy agenda that centers the needs of poor and low-income people. Then join us again online at 3pm ET for a report back of actions from across the country.

SIGN YOUR NAME!

There are 140 million poor and low-income people in our nation, and 8.6 million in New York State — we can’t wait another 50 years for change to come! The time to act is now.

Forward together,

The NYS Poor People’s Campaign

*Due to COVID-19, we are asking that all participants at the in-person event wear double masks and remain at least 8 feet apart at all times. If you are feeling the slightest of symptoms, we ask that you stay at home and watch the program online.
