Anti-Racism Training

October 19 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

On Sat., October 19, from 10 am to 2 pm, at First Presbyterian Church, Albany, the Anti-Racism Task Force will offer an Anti-Racism Training: “Words Have Meaning: the Intersection of Faith and Anti-Racism” by Charlene Holmes, Chief Equity Officer and Founder of Imana Borena, Inc.

“Charlene, a dedicated advocate for historically ignored and disenfranchised communities, aligns her passion with a mission to infuse Christian principles of righteousness and equity into DEI. With a background in staff development, institutional initiatives, and policy analysis, Charlene’s anti-racist and culturally competent training reflects IB’s core values. Leveraging her lived experience as a Black woman, she fosters transformative spaces for dialogue, strategic planning, strategy development, and assessment. Charlene’s goal is to provide transformative spaces for healthy dialogue and strategic planning through comprehensive frameworks. These frameworks, deeply informed by theory-to-practice, are instrumental in implementing organizational, institutional, and structural change.”

The training is being offered free of charge to all members of Albany Presbytery and members of congregations. A catered lunch will be provided. Please RSVP by October 12 to ARTF Co-Chairs Mary Anne Davis, mad.maryanne@gmail.com or Donna Elia, delia001@nycap.rr.com
